MUST-SICT students will undertake an internship in cloud technology in South Korea.

Within the framework of a joint project implemented by MUST together with KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) and Kakao Enterprise, the "Cloud Technology Specialist Training" program has been successfully completed. Twenty students from MUST SICT successfully completed the hybrid online-and-offline training and received their Kakao Enterprise certificates on 9 October 2024. Kakao Enterprise is a subsidiary of Kakao Corporation, one of South Korea's leading IT companies, and is a provider of AI and cloud technology platforms that boost workplace productivity and efficiency. Five outstanding students selected from those who completed the training will be invited to South Korea for a six-week practical development internship at Kakao Enterprise, where they will work on building cloud environments based on OpenStack and Kubernetes.

When launching the project, meetings and research were conducted with the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, the National Data Center, the National IT Park, and other agencies. Based on this, cloud technology specialists from Korea and Mongolia are planning to jointly develop an Edge Cloud platform at the national and regional level. This platform does not process large volumes of data centrally; instead, it processes data in real time near where the data is generated (the edge). All students who participated in the training will be the human resources implementing the project, and we believe that their representatives, as well as the students selected to intern in South Korea, will learn a great deal and become strong engineers who help build a cloud technology ecosystem in Mongolia.
