The 12th National Computer Networks Olympiad and the 5th Computer Network Engineers' Skills Competition to be held.

OBJECTIVE:

To increase the capacity of specialists and personnel in computer networks, information and network security, promote the profession, and showcase their creative abilities to society.

One. General provisions

1.1. According to this directive, the 12th National Computer Network Olympiad will be held openly among students of higher education institutions.

1.2. The Olympiad will be organized in 2 stages. Stage I will be held on September 21, 2024, and Stage II on September 28, 2024 at NDUM.

1.3. There is no limit on the number of students participating from one school, and registration is open.

1.4. For information about the Olympiad, please contact 90910117 /S.Bilegt, Director of the Cybersecurity Training Center of National Defense University of Mongolia/, 88753081 /Ch.Enkhbaatar, lecturer at the Cybersecurity Training Center/ by phone, or by email at cstc@mndu.gov.mn during working hours.

Two. Organization

2.1. The Olympiad will be jointly organized by NDUM CABST and partner sponsoring organizations. Olympiad news and information will be posted at https://mndu.gov.mn.

2.2. Participants in Stage I of the Olympiad will register online at https://mndu.gov.mn from September 2-13, 2024.

2.3. Participants are not restricted by major or year. However, those not currently studying, on leave, or studying more than four years cannot participate.

2.4. The Olympiad has no registration fee.

2.5. Olympiad assignments, start time, and other information will be sent to the registered email address the day before the competition.

2.6. Results of Stage I and Stage II will be automatically calculated and announced online.

2.7. Students selected for Stage II must come to NDUM-CABST room 100 on September 23-25, 2024 to register and confirm their participation. They should bring a school recommendation letter, ID card photocopy, or reference. If not confirmed within the specified time, the right will be transferred to the next student.

2.8. 20 students will participate in Stage II.

Three. Selection, awards, prizes

3.1. From Stage I, based on performance scores, the top 30 students, considering the number of participants from each school and their achievements, will receive invitations to Stage II from the organizing committee at their registered email addresses.

3.2. A total of 5 positions /1st-3rd prize positions, 2 special positions/ will be selected from Stage II, receiving certificates, cash prizes, and sponsor awards.

Four. Assignments, scope

- OSI, TCP/IP model, commonly used protocols of TCP/IP protocol suite, open standards

- Network basic equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless network equipment, etc.) technologies

- Technologies ensuring computer network reliability

- Open standards and protocols for network monitoring and management

- Commonly used application layer services, server organization, related troubleshooting commands

- Network security, basic concepts and applications of cryptography

- Practical assignments within the framework of equipment and protocols that can run on Packet Tracer 8.2.0 and later versions

- 70-80% of Stage I questions are tests, with the remainder being problem-solving assignments.

- Stage II questions are 100% practical assignments.

GUIDELINES FOR ORGANIZING THE 5TH COMPUTER NETWORK ENGINEERS' SKILL COMPETITION

1.2. The competition will be organized in 2 stages

• Stage I on September 21, 2024,

• Stage II on September 28, 2024 at NDUM.

1.3. There is no limit on the number of engineers participating from one organization, and registration is open.

2.8. Engineers selected for Stage II must write to cstc@mndu.gov.mn on September 23-25, 2024 to confirm their participation. The email should include an organizational recommendation (with official stamp), ID card photocopy, or reference photocopy. If not confirmed within the specified time, the right will be transferred to the next engineer.

2.9. Up to 10 engineers will participate in Stage II.
